Sharon Ooja, born Sharon Ooja Egwurube, is a Nigerian actress that came to the limelight after playing the role of Shalewa in the NDANI TV series, Skinny Girl in Transit. She is from Benue State, although born in Kaduna State.
Her journey into Nollywood began in 2013. She revealed in an interview that she got into acting after a photo session with a store where NDANI TV was covering the behind-the-scenes activities of the shoot. Shortly after, she was called to play a role in the series, Gidi Up. Sharon then featured in Skinny Girl in Transit, where she played the main character’s sister, Shalewa.
Sharon has featured in a number of TV shows and movies including The Men’s Club, Glamour Girls, Oluture, Bling Lagosians, King of Boys, to name a few.
She is a graduate of Mass Communication from Houdegbe North American University, Benin.
In addition to a number of celebrities, Sharon Ooja was selected by Netflix to represent Nigeria in the “The Bridgerton Affair” episode produced in South Africa.
