Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is launching a new storytelling podcast with the title, Mind Your Own, debuting on September 19. This ten-part series explores the lives of Africans in the Diaspora, focusing on the question: Where is home? Drawing from her own experiences of homesickness, Lupita, who has lived in Mexico, Kenya, and the U.S., delves into the complexities of identity and belonging. Mind Your Own features narratives from Africans across various cities, including Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Los Angeles, Johannesburg, Toronto, and Kampala, showcasing a rich tapestry of cultures through six African languages and music from 15 composers. Produced by KQED’s Snap Studios and distributed by Lemonada Media, the podcast promises intimate, personal stories that illuminate the African Diasporic experience. Lupita invites listeners to join her weekly to explore the joys and challenges of finding home.
