The 2024 Creative Arts Emmys opened with a spectacular celebration, highlighting the best in television’s technical and artistic fields. Held at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theatre, the event, which precedes the Primetime Emmys, honoured outstanding achievements with 99 awards across various categories. The night’s standout moment was Angela Bassett’s emotional win for her narration of National Geographic’s docuseries – Queens, marking her first-ever Emmy after nine nominations. Bassett expressed her delight in her heartfelt acceptance speech, stating, “This feels good, really, really good… Thank you to National Geographic, Wild Star Film, and the women directors—all women—who brought this incredible story centred on the animal kingdom.”
The ceremony also recognised notable winners including Saturday Night Live and Alan Cumming.
