What makes an elegant woman?
Elegance is defined as the quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance and manner.
Therefore, an elegant woman can be defined as someone who carries herself with poise in a sophisticated and fashionable way.
Elegance is more of a mindset and it’s a work in progress.
If you want to portray yourself as an elegant and confident person, here are some tips on how you can look effortlessly elegant all the time.
Elegance tips
i. Maintain good posture – keep your shoulders back and head held high.
ii. Good grooming: Elegance essentially radiates from within but can be shown on the outside as well. The more well put together you look, the more people will take note of your appearance. Take a trip to the salon and trim those split ends, get yourself a flattering haircut and take care of your hair.
iii. Makeup: If you want an elegant makeup look, opt for red lips or neutral shades. Keep makeup simple and minimal.
iv. Dine leisurely: Eat slowly and savour your meal.
v.No way to chew gum: Do not smack gum in public
vi. Put that phone away: Put the cell phone/electronics away while you’re sitting at the dining table.
vii. Be present: When you are in someone’s presence, really be with them. Even if it’s only for a minute, look them in the eyes and offer them attention and courtesy.
viii. Proper wine etiquette: Learn the basics of proper wine service.
ix. Tailored wardrobe: Invest in classic wardrobe pieces that resonate with your style, or desired style. If you want to go for an especially elegant look, get pieces in black, white, pink, and grey. Stick to a neutral palette and get those pieces tailored. Depending on where you live and the dress code of where you work, adjust accordingly.
x. Don’t complain: Learn to bear; don’t lose your cool easily.
xi. Communication: Elegance is also how you make others feel. The secret to making others think “elegance” when they think of you is to be kind, helpful and courteous.
